RACE POINT LIGHT
A great series showing what hard work by volunteers can accomplish. Bill was involved with a lighthouse organization that saved this light. Him and a friend started the restoration in 1995. They opened it up that week for the general public to see. Gave rides back and fourth over the 2 miles of beach to get out there in a donated 4x4 jeep. The restoration was completed in 1998 and then opened for over night stays. ____________________________________________________________
GRAY HARBOR LIGHT
Grays Harbor Light is located outside of Westport, Washington. Construction was completed in 1898 and Richard adds ... originally it was located close to the beach and that's where we were looking for it. We couldn't find it. When all else fails, ask the locals. We were directed right to it. As it turns out, storms over the years caused the coastline to change and it wound up about 3/4 of mile from the water's edge.(RL) ______________________________________________________________
POINT ROBINSON LIGHT
Located on the northeast corner of Maury Island, an extension of Vashon Island located in the lower end of Pudget Sound. It is about 30 miles north of Tacoma via a ferry ride. Originally built in 1885, it was rebuilt in 1915 with a 5th order Frensel lens. It was automated in 1978 and shines 2 white flashed every 12 seconds.(RL) ______________________________________________________________
CAPE ELIZABETH LIGHT
It is located just a bit south of Portland, Maine. The more popular Portland Head Light is a few miles north of this light. This light was built in 1874 and then in 1929 it was renovated and a second- order Fresnel lens was installed. It is still is in operation.(RL) ______________________________________________________________

January 2007 Located in Beverly Massachusetts on the main channel to Salem Harbor and established in 1871. Automated in 1947. Is also the residence of the Commander First Coast Guard District in Boston. Flag is flying at half staff due to the death of former President Gerald Ford. ______________________________________________________________

The rectangular area on the steeple is the range marker. ______________________________________________________________
NED'S POINT LIGHT (MA)
Located on the north side of Mattapoisett Harbor and established in 1838. Constructed of stone with a tower height of 39 feet and height of focal plane 41 feet. The grounds are open to the public daily. _______________________________________________________________
