Although this is not a photo of a ship I thought it fitting to include. It was submitted by BM1 Pedro D. Marticio and was
of a pocket watch carried by his late father,Inocencio P. Marticio who was in the CG from 1917 to 1957 and retired in 1957
from CG Air Station Salem. When Pedro tried to find out about the time piece he was told it was probably one of a kind and
the movements dated to around 1923.
He served aboard the HUNTER LIGGETT during WWII.
Pedro comes from a long line of Coast Guardsmen and adds:"My father retired as a SD1, Brother CSC, Brother-in-law
SD2, me BM1. I retired from Group Boston as an SDO, and served on every lighthouse in Boston Harbor, I closed down Deer Island
and Graves".
