This vessel worked out of Biddefordpool Maine. She had a crew of twelve men who rotated shifts every two weeks. Her purpose
was to patrol just offshore for German U-Boats. She had NO armament.

A small, thirty-foot, water-jet propelled fireboat called "The Pollywog" is the principal pier fighter used
by the Coast Guard in keeping the harbor of New York free from wartime disaster. A fleet of these potent little boats is
maintained by the Coast Guard Port Security Force.
They throw 3000 gallons of water a minute and have a crew of five men. The Coast Guard, responsible for port security
in the United States, operates the world's largest fireboat fleet. No major disaster has occured to impede victory shipping
since the Coast Guard took over Port Security. (USN)

These were hard to catalog into the proper category. They are neither a vessel or aircraft but rather something in between.
These photos were taken in San Francisco Bay where the USCG was running trials for a few years. The ACV's were assigned
to Fort Point Lifeboat Station.
